The first edition of UP Beauty, the trade show dedicated to emerging, innovative, disruptive and natural brands at the Carrousel du Louvre, closed its doors on June 28, considered a resounding success by the whole of the Beauty Industry.
Here are some key figures about the launch event:
248 French and international purchasing decision-makers from 156 buying offices visited UP Beauty.
53% of buyers came from French retailers and 47% from international retailers.
22% were importers and 78% represented masstige, pharmacy, parapharmacy and selective distribution.
The retailers present included (non-exhaustive list): Le Bon Marché / Monoprix / Super Cosmetics / Holland&Barrett / Sephora / Grupo Isolée / Galeries Lafayette / Lagardère Travel Retail / Mademoiselle Bio / Bio C’Bon / Parashop / OVS / Birchbox / Cult Beauty / Selfridges / Le Drugstore Parisien / Passion Beauté / Aprium Pharmacie … On the exhibitor front, 110 cosmetic brands were present at this debut trade show dedicated to new trends on the Beauty market, making Paris the capital for emerging, innovative, disruptive and natural cosmetics brands.
The brands present hailed from many different countries. As well as France, there were labels from Italy, Israel, the UK, Switzerland, Bulgaria, the US, Iceland and Norway for example. Among them, to name but a few, were Le Rouge Français (France), Boho (France), Avril Cosmétique (France), Dr Russo (UK), Urtekram (Denmark), La Chenaie (France), Yuni Beauty (USA), Belle Radiance (France), Cut Le Crap (UK), Ouate (France), Insula (Italy) and Purophi (Italy).
UP Beauty was also the opportunity for new, emerging brands to pitch their concept in front of an audience of French and international investors during dedicated sessions. Finally, a dense conference program moderated by investment fund Eutopia, UP Beauty’s official partner, allowed entrepreneurs from key brands including Joone, Respire, Feed and Funky Veggie to confirm their place on the new consumption landscape as part of the ongoing ecological transition.

COCOSOLIS It was a great pleasure to be part of the UP Wabel in Paris this June. Since UP Beauty we have stepped in more than 3 negotiations with partners met during the exhibition and I am expecting to onboard another 2 into discussions.
VOR ORGANICS I had a good time, especially on Friday when I met 3 potential distributors. I also met a buyer from Amazon looking for cosmetic brand´s to develop for Amazon exclusive brands. Sephora also came on my both and they where interested in my products ( unfortunatly I cant sell my products to stores) But so nice that they liked my products ! Great first show …..
